Reports - Export CSV Data

Overview

Safari enables you to view and export a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file to keep tabs on when, how much, and by whom the system is being used.  Such data exports are useful for recordkeeping review and for assessing security risks from inactive users.  Or, to make sure users are up to date on information security training to safeguard your customers.  A CSV file is a popular format that can be opened with any spreadsheet tool to read it.

To get started, in the left navigation bar on Safari, click Reports and then Data Exports as shown below:

Data Export Types and Access Restrictions

Use the pull-down menu to select the Export Type you want.  Below are the access restrictions affecting each export:
  1. Matters and Documents: user running the report will only be given data for the matters they can access.
  2. Users and Service Accounts and Login History:  only system Owners and Admins can obtain data from these exports.

Matters

All Matter Fields are available to include in your CSV data report, but here are the standard ones included:
  1. Matters Created/Closed in a specific time period
  2. Open Matters, with reviewer, status, and upcoming task this week
  3. Cost Recovery matters with amount billed, invoices paid, and net fees received in a specific time period
  4. Garnishment matters to compare currently seized total in Safari vs. your GL account with seized funds
  5. Matter Response Duration from creation to portal delivery and/or closing the matter to identify baselines, and also to see average response time by Reviewer
Pick from more than 30 additional Fields for the detail you need, including:
  1. Creation Source Name
  2. Date Closed
  3. Garnishment Judgment Amount
  4. Response Duration Days Total
  5. Response Total Invoice Amount
  6. Served Attachment Count
See all the Fields available to you at Reports - Standard Reports & Fields (safarilaw.com)

Documents

  1. Export a list of the documents and sizes uploaded into the system for a given matter
  2. View who uploaded the document and when, and did someone access it within a Safari response portal

Users and Account Services

  1. Reveal usernames, emails, and when they logged in
  2. Export a list of "Authorized Users in [Month]"
  3. Export a list of "Active Users in Safari" and their last log-in, to potentially deactivate users who have access but aren't using the system

Login History

  1. See the users who haven't logged on for [xx] days to consider deactivating them
  2. Reveal each user login for a certain date range as a way to address suspected security incidents such as someone hacked
  3. Specify the date range for login history (default of 30 days but can be up to 365 days) as shown below
