Viewable Document Types

Web browsers have limits on what types of documents you can view directly in Safari.  Generally, you can view PDFs and image files (e.g., jpeg, tiff, png).  You can upload other file types such as email (.msg), Microsoft Word or Excel, movies, audio files, and zip files, but you can't view or listen to them directly in Safari, in which case you must download them for review.

Download

You can download a document in three ways:

  1. For an individual document, hover over the document row and then click on the ellipsis icon (...) in the far right column.  Then click Download.
  2. Open the document viewer, and click the download icon  in the upper right corner of the viewer.
  3. Bulk download multiple documents at once using the Bulk Actions functionality.

When you hover over a document row, you can then click on the ellipses.

Move

How to move a document

You can move a document in two ways:
  1. For an individual document, hover over the document row and then click on the ellipsis icon (...) in the far right column.  Then click Move, and then click on the folder name.
  2. Bulk move multiple documents at once using the Bulk Actions functionality.

Limitations

Here are three situations in which you're not allowed to move a document:
  1. You cannot move Safari-sent correspondence from the Correspondence folder.
  2. You cannot move templates that are saved as a Draft.
  3. Generally, when a matter is closed, you cannot move a document unless it's in the Correspondence folder or the Internal folder.
Also, you must have a system role of Editor or higher to be able to move a document.  If you have a system permission of Viewer or Uploader, you can't move documents.
